We may fall, but we’re never down!

On this Freedom Weekend, I always stop and think what if the revolutionist had failed? No question in my mind. They would have tried again!

I’ll never forget the lesson my 11-year-old son Brian taught me many years ago when we were skiing. We had taken a hot chocolate break when a fellow skier asked Brian if he was having fun. Brian assured him he was having a great time, so the stranger asked, “Did you have any falls?”

“Yep,” Brian replied, “and I had fourteen get-ups today.”

“Get-ups?” the man questioned. “What is a get-up?”

Brian looked at him incredulously. “A get-up is what you do when you fall down. Falls don’t count, get-ups do!”

We all fall, but it’s what we do after we fall that’s important. Remember to get up!

Have a great weekend!
