Child Sacrifice

Like most other readers of the Tennessean, I was horrified by the article regarding child sacrifice in Uganda!  In this day of constant regard for human rights which of us can believe that child sacrifice still exists? Unfortunately, as the article reports, each year Uganda experiences human sacrifice despite laws making it punishable by death. In 2014 there were 13 cases of human sacrifice reported – 9 of them children, in 2015 there were 7 children and 6 adults sacrificed to obtain “favors” from “the spirits.” Often, the article reports, the victims are cut apart while still alive and their parts sacrificed individually. As one might imagine, the genitals are the most prized offerings.

Yes, we are all sickened by this horrid abuse of fellow human beings. Luckily it can’t happen in our love-filled, civilized, humane society! Or can it?

Each year United States’ doctors, the protectors of life, forced approximately million tiny human-beings out of the comfort of their mother’s wombs by drugs or instrumentation. It is well known and understood that instrumentation “tears the fetus (baby) apart” and both drug induced and instrument induced abortion result in a painful death.

The Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion research group formerly affiliated with Planned Parenthood, estimates that 1.3 percent of abortions are performed at 21 weeks or more of pregancy. Which equates to more than 13,000 babies, capable of living outside of the mother uterus, were killed by the procedure.

Uganda law forbids human sacrifice and punishes any form of human sacrifice with the death sentence. United States allows human sacrifice (abortion) at any time during pregnancy up to and including partial birth. However, The Supreme Court does allow states to restrict abortion after “viability” which is somewhere between 22 and 24 weeks. Yet many politicians want to remove that part of the decision and allow no state to restrict or prevent even partial birth abortion.

What kind of false righteousness must we Americans have to be horrified by fewer than a dozen child sacrifices in Uganda when we “kind and benevolent” Americans sacrifice more than 1,000,000 children each and every year, not to evil spirits, but to our life style. God help us!

  1. I submitted this as a letter to the Tennessean letter, but, guess what, they didn’t publish it! So much for truth in the main street press!

    • Thank you Jean. It’s always good when we agree! I appreciate all you do for families and kids!
